Henry was a member of The Temple, the Jewish Community Center, the St. Joe was a veteran of the Air Force during the Korean War.Matthews Rotary Club and was a former President of the Louisville Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE) and former co-chair of the United Way. He graduated from the University of Kentucky, a pharmicist, and operated Rouben's Pharmacy for 40 years.She was an insurance agent for Shelter Insurance and was an active member of the American Legion, Post #113.She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for her father, playing cards and spending every moment possible with her grandchildren.He was a member of Valhalla and his greatest joy was playing golf. As long as the sun was shining, he was on the first tee, waiting to share time with his friends and maybe even win a few bucks.When not on the golf course, you could find Bert and Ann Leah, his loving wife of 51 years, at the race track or at a U of L game.
Following postgraduate training at Kings County Hospital in New York City, and Brooklyn State Hospital, he served as a Captain in the United States Army in New Cumberland, PA through 1949. He was the former partner with his brother in Brill's Pharmacy on Bardstown Road for 40 years. She is survived by her beloved daughters: Susan Goodman and Robin Goodman (Lydia Pritchard); sisters: Sonia Davidson and Florence Weinstein of Connecticut; and brothers: Leo (Shirley), Alvin (Linda) and Herschel Borowick.
She touched the lives of many people with her smile and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
He was a graduate of Male High School, attended the University of Louisville and was a retired Vice President of the Bank of Louisville.
Shirley was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, and lived most of her life in Louisville, Kentucky.
She spent many years working alongside her husband as a bookkeeper for their company.
